30 April, 2020. A new two-classroom building and bathroom facilities for GPS Ha’alalo were officially jointly commissioned by the Hon. Minister for Education and Training, Hon. Siaosi ‘Ofa Ki Vahafolau Sovaleni and the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Tonga, His Excellency, Mr. Tetsuya Ishii, on Thursday 23rd April, 2020.

19 March, 2020.  Due to the world-wide spread of the Covid-19 virus and the likelihood of Tongan people getting infected due to mass gathering, the Ministry of Education and Training together with the non-Government Education Systems of Tonga, in their meeting on the 18th March 2020, agreed to put in place a number of measures to combat the spread of the virus and minimize the disruption on our students learning.

13 March, 2020. Classic children's books such as Thumbelina and Charlotte's Web are being used to boost the confidence of young Tongans learning to speak English.

2 March, 2020. The Board of Directors for the Tonga National Qualifications and Accreditation Board (TNQAB) announced the appointment of  Dr Opeti Pulotu as the new Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect from Friday 21st February 2020.

14 January, 2019. The Ministry of Education and Training wishes to announce that the results of the Tonga School Certificate (TSC) 2019 is now officially released.

11 January, 2020. The Ministry of Education and Training wishes to announce that the results of the Tonga Form Six Certificate (TNFSC) 2019 is now officially released.

9 January, 2020. The Ministry of Education and Training wishes to announce that the results of the Tonga National Form Seven Certificate (TNFSC) 2019 is now officially released.
